Eight-Ring Circus Upright Rings Teapot

This is my most recent Upright Rings Teapot, made from five complete circular rings thrown on the potter’s wheel, and three additional thrown rings cut up into arc sections, from which I made the base, handle, and spout. My goal with this Teapot was to assemble it with only thrown ring components, and not use slab, hand-built, or pulled-handle elements as I had done with all my Reassembled and Upright Ring Teapots made prior to this one in the last 25 years. The idea for this Teapot was inspired by the artwork of English ceramic artist Matthew Chambers. Search his name and you will see beautiful work! The detailed process of making this Teapot is found in the “Step-By-Step Making My Eight-Ring Circus Upright Rings Teapot” section of this web site. The 24 separate entries, including multiple process photos, are very detailed, so I will not try to summarize them here. I hope you will enjoy reading in that section about the twists and turns of my progress in making this Teapot!
